Windham & The Surrounding Area

Windham is a wonderful place to live. Most people who’ve spent time here would agree that it’s a fabulous place. The locals are friendly and there’s fresh air, open spaces and tons of restaurants, music at the local pubs, unique shops, a health spa, fitness club, movie theater, art gallery and all kinds of outdoor activities. Home of Windham Mountain, with many winter sporting activities available; skiing, snowboarding, ice skating, snow shoeing, cross country skiing and snow tubing.

In spring, summer and fall there’s hiking, fishing, cycling, mountain biking and plenty of golf! The Windham Country Club is a pristine 18-hole course; and just west of town you’ll find Christman’s Pleasant View Golf Course. They have 36 holes total, with both a 9-hole valley course and a challenging 18-hole mountain course.

If you are looking for a peaceful mountain walk, jog or bike ride, the new Windham Path is a beautiful and very well maintained addition to the community.

Windham is also the host of many great summer events including The World Cup Mountain Bike Race (some years); where racers from all over the world come to our small town to compete for the trophy. There are several awesome summer festivals nearby including Mountain Jam in Hunter, NY and Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival in Oak Hill, NY. There is always something fun and new coming to town for the community to enjoy.

Kaaterskill Falls:
One of the many natural wonders of our area, Kaaterskill falls is the highest two tier waterfall in New York State and has been attracting viewers to our mountain top for over 100 years!  A newly constructed observation deck makes the view more easily accessible than ever with a short walk down a winding wheel chair accessible path.
